Overview

The Sales Representative (Commercial) plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and establishing strong relationships with customers on Long Island, NY. This position is essential for generating new business and maintaining existing client accounts to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.

The ideal candidate should be driven by results and possess a passion for helping clients understand the value of the products offered. Through proactive outreach and effective communication, the Sales Representative is responsible for identifying customer needs and matching them with suitable solutions.

This role not only involves meeting sales targets but also requires a deep knowledge of the product line to effectively convey benefits and advantages to potential clients. As the primary contact for customers, the representative ensures that their experience is seamless and satisfying, ultimately contributing to the organization’s overall success and reputation in the marketplace.

Position allows for remote and face-to-face sales activities, offering geographical flexibility within Long Island, NY&

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within assigned territory.
  • Manage and nurture existing client relationships to drive repeat business.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and customer needs.
  • Present and demonstrate products to clients effectively.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries and concerns.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations and proposals.
  • Negotiate contracts and close agreements.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to align sales efforts with promotional activities.
  • Attend industry events and trade shows to network and generate leads.
  • Provide feedback to management regarding product performance and market demand.
  • Continuously update knowledge of industry trends and competitor offerings.
  • Achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Participate in training sessions to improve sales skills and product knowledge.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in sales or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and resilience.
  • Knowledge of the industry and market conditions.
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Results-oriented with a track record of meeting sales targets.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and customer needs.
  • Positive attitude and professional demeanor.
  • Basic mathematical skills for handling sales figures.
  • Up to 60% travel required
  • Must-Haves

  • Business development, prospecting, and pipeline growth experience&
  • Understanding of power generation and temperature control equipment and their applications&
  • Understanding the market opportunities and knowledge of the territory&
  • Demonstrated success in maintaining a minimum annual sales budget of $2 million, highlighting strong sales capabilities
  • Possess a general understanding of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, energy storage, and load banks, contributing to informed sales discussions&
  • Nice-To-Haves

  • Experience with Salesforce&
  • Technical background or trade school in Power generation and HVAC / Temperature control equipment&
  • An existing book of business or contacts within a network of clients in the building and construction sector&
