Controller Job Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• General Ledger Management : Oversee and maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts, ensuring proper accounting treatment for transactions in compliance with company policies and GAAP.
• Financial Reporting : Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statements), analyzing variances and providing actionable insights to management.
• Cost Accounting : Work closely with the production and operations teams to track and analyze manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labor, overhead, and inventory. Assist in cost allocation and variance analysis.
• Budgeting & Forecasting : Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with department heads to gather relevant data, ensure budget compliance, and assess financial performance against targets.
• Internal Controls : Maintain and improve internal controls over financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with corporate policies, financial regulations, and industry standards.
• Accounts payable / receivable, as well as payroll
• Month-End and Year-End Close : Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial results. Coordinate with external auditors for year-end audit and financial review.
• Inventory Management : Monitor and reconcile inventory records, ensuring accurate valuation and cost of goods sold (COGS) calculations.
• Tax Compliance : Assist in the preparation of tax filings, including sales tax, property tax, and income tax, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Process Improvement : Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to accounting processes, systems, and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Education, Skills, and / or Experience

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), ERP system plus the ability to learn company used applications.
