Vaco is actively seeking a Data Analyst / Data Scientist for a direct-hire opportunity to join an extremely stable and internationally respected financial services firm in Memphis.
Position Summary
The role primarily involves handling complex data analysis using internal datasets and external products including Bloomberg, FactSet, and various financial repositories. This position provides an excellent opportunity to advise and affect significant data-driven business decisions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Data Analysis & Reporting : Handle recurring and ad hoc requests based on leadership and stakeholder needs including sourcing, normalizing, presenting, and loading data for key investment decisions.
- Autonomous Problem-Solving : Demonstrate curiosity and initiative by taking ownership of open-ended questions, applying critical thinking, and figuring out solutions independently.
- Specialized Analyses : Perform specialized analysis such as correlation studies to uncover insights and support investment strategies.
- Collaboration with Research Team : Work closely with a team of 15-20 research analysts to fulfill data support requests and provide insights that enhance decision-making processes.
- Process Improvement & Knowledge Transfer : Transition into the role by learning current datasets and evolving the position beyond routine maintenance to introduce new technologies, processes, insights, and efficiencies.
