Tech Requirements :
- Proven expertise in implementing and maintaining various firewall technologies, particularly Palo Alto and Fortinet FortiGate.
- Experience with web application firewalls & zscaler
- Experience with CheckPoint and Cisco firewalls is a plus
Working within the SOC team, the Network Security Administrator Firewall Specialist is responsible for a range of firewall management tasks; daily administration, advanced system and application support, handling of Move / Add / Change / Delete requests, installations, upgrades, and serving as a primary liaison for vendor support on behalf of customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and maintain firewall operations, including rule deployments, hardware / software refreshes, and performance monitoring.Analyze and recommend firewall solutions to address business needs and support continuous improvements.Conduct independent analysis to resolve strategic firewall issues.Support customer onboarding and implementation of security controls.Monitor and optimize firewall rule policies and overall system health.Provide end-to-end technical support, including troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and vendors to ensure effective security posture.Perform security assessments, apply patches, and address vulnerabilities.Generate and maintain customer reports, dashboards, and alerts for system performance and security events.Participate in business continuity planning and the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs).Participate in an on-call rotation and handle other duties as assigned.EDUCATION / REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).Minimum 2 years in Security Administration, preferably within MSP environment4 years of hands-on experience with firewalls, including policy creation, maintenance, and optimization.Experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet, and other major firewall technologies (e.g., Check Point, Cisco, Juniper).Experience with Web Application Firewalls (e.g., F5, Zscaler).Strong knowledge of network and security protocols (SSL, DNS, IPSEC, NAT).Familiarity with SDN, SASE, and SDWAN technologies is preferred.Certifications such as CCSA, CCSE, CCNA, PCNSA, PCNSE, NSE 4 / 5, Security , or similar are highly desired.
