A company is looking for a Nuclear Shielding and Criticality Engineer for a long-term, remote contract opportunity.Key Responsibilities : Perform radiation shielding design and analysis for advanced nuclear reactors, calculating dose rates and neutron fluence ratesDevelop radiation sources based on material activation analysis for non-fuel in-vessel componentsConduct criticality calculations and establish upper subcritical limits (USLs)Required Qualifications : B.S. degree in Nuclear Engineering or equivalent experience; advanced degree and 5 years of relevant experience preferredStrong skills in MCNP and experience with radiation shielding calculations for gammas and neutrons are requiredFamiliarity with variance reduction using MCNP and features such as surface source read / write and mesh talliesStrong programming skills in Python are necessaryExperience working under NQA-1 quality program desired
