Common Area Cleaner

The Common Area Cleaner is responsible for maintaining an attractive, safe and operational environment for owners, residents, and guests. This position performs a variety of cleaning and light maintenance duties as assigned including sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, keeping pool deck neat and organized, trash disposal, and window cleaning. Inspects work performed in assigned building/property(s) and submits reports to the Supervisor. Position is performed indoors and outdoors; indoors to maintain the interior of the community, outdoors to maintain the exterior.
Essential Functions
- Performs a variety of janitorial duties including but not limited to cleaning restrooms, lobbies, and assigned areas of emptying and removing trash
- Maintains and stores all cleaning solutions in accordance to OSHA requirements for hazardous chemicals.
- Removes trash from premises and assists in emergency cleaning, Responsible for maintaining the appropriate level of sanitary and cleaning supplies for assigned areas.
- Inspects all assigned areas daily and reports all cleaning and maintenance discrepancies to Supervisor or Community Association Management.
- Completes daily work orders as assigned and scheduled.
- Maintains assigned equipment in good working condition.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks and all other duties as assigned.
- Position may require some light maintenance occasionally; dependent on time of year.
Job Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalency preferred. Previous custodial experience is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
Ability to properly utilize new equipment and follow safety procedures prior to use. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are required.
Conditions of Work
This position works under indoor and outdoor conditions and may be exposed to elements including but not limited to, chemicals, odor, weather and environmental conditions. The associate must be able to work in an upright standing position for extended periods of time, and must be able to sit, walk, crawl, climb, reach with hand and arms and lift 50 lbs. The employee must be able to quickly and easily navigate the property/building as required to meet the job functions and must be able to detect auditory and/or visual emergency alarms. The employee must be able to work extended and flexible hours and weekends as needed.

Hours: 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm and 11:00 am to 7:30 pm
