Job Summary
Virtus Academy is seeking a compassionate and dedicated High School Counselor for the 2025-26 school year. The ideal candidate will provide academic, career, and social-emotional support to students, helping them navigate their high school journey and prepare for post-secondary opportunities. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, knowledge of counseling best practices, and the ability to collaborate with students, families, teachers, and administrators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to support students' academic, social, and emotional well-being.
- Guide students in course selection, graduation requirements, and post-secondary planning, including college and career readiness.
- Conduct Individual Graduation Plans (IGPs) to ensure students stay on track for graduation and future goals.
- Oversee the Dual Enrollment Program, assisting students with enrollment, course selection, and academic progress monitoring.
- Develop and implement programs that promote student success, mental health, and personal growth.
- Work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to address student needs and provide appropriate interventions.
- Assist students with college applications, scholarship opportunities, and career exploration.
- Support students experiencing personal or academic challenges by providing resources and referrals.
- Maintain student records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
- Facilitate workshops and presentations on topics such as study skills, stress management, and conflict resolution.
- Advocate for students and promote an inclusive, supportive school environment.
- Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Virtus Academy.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in School Counseling or a related field (required).
- Valid school counseling certification.
- Prior experience as a school counselor preferred.
- Strong understanding of adolescent development, academic advising, and mental health support.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
