Job Summary
As a CT Technologist in the Cat Scan Department, you will perform computed tomography (CT) scans to assist in diagnosing and treating various medical conditions. You will operate advanced CT equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure. Your expertise will contribute to providing accurate and timely diagnostic information to physicians.
Responsibilities:
- Perform CT Scans:
- Conduct CT scans on patients, utilizing appropriate techniques and protocols to obtain high-quality images.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure, addressing any concerns or anxieties.
- Explain procedures to patients, answering their questions and addressing their concerns.
- Image Acquisition and Analysis:
- Operate CT equipment effectively to capture clear and accurate images.
- Analyze images to identify abnormalities and provide preliminary findings to radiologists.
- Maintain accurate records of patient examinations and findings.
- Patient Care:
- Provide compassionate care and support to patients throughout their procedures.
- Monitor patients for any signs of complications and report any changes to the appropriate medical professional.
- Start IVs for contrast administration, ensuring proper technique and patient safety.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
- Operate and maintain a variety of CT equipment, including scanners, injectors, and monitoring devices.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and report any malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Communicate findings clearly and concisely to referring physicians.
- Maintain accurate records of patient procedures and findings.
Qualifications:
- Education and Certification:
- Completion of an accredited CT technology program or equivalent.
- Radiologic Technologist (R)(CT) certification by the ARRT required.
- Experience:
- Relevant experience in CT scanning is required.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of CT principles and techniques.
- Proficient in operating CT equipment.
- Excellent patient care and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented and committed to accuracy.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Shift Details:
- Evening shift: Monday - Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM.
- Weekend and holiday rotation (on-call).
