Virtus Healthcare Staffing is engaged in a search for a Director of Nursing - Surgical Services on behalf of our esteemed partner, a Level II Trauma Center in San Ramon, CA. This facility is a 23-bed acute-care hospital, primary stroke center, and a cardiac heart surgery hospital known for excellence in patient care. A $30K sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates.
Position Summary:The Director of Nursing - Surgical Services will lead and oversee all aspects of surgical operations, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety, quality, and operational efficiency. This role requires a dynamic leader with a strong clinical background in surgical services and a proven ability to manage teams and drive performance in a hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities:Oversee the daily operations of Surgical Services, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and optimize workflow efficiency.
Manage budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation to ensure operational effectiveness.
Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and hospital leadership to advance surgical care services.
Maintain compliance with state, federal, and accreditation regulations.
Required: Academic degree in Nursing.
Preferred: BSN or MSN.
Required: Minimum 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital setting as a Manager, Full-Time Charge Nurse, or related position.
Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license (Required).
Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers (AHA certified) (Required).
Certification in perioperative nursing (Preferred).
CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) certification (Strongly Preferred).
