Family Nurse Practitioner

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is partnering with a leading healthcare organization in Great Barrington, MA, seeking a dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner to provide advanced primary and specialty nursing services. This full-time opportunity involves conducting patient assessments, creating personalized care plans, and promoting healthy habits to improve patient well-being.
Position Description:
The Family Nurse Practitioner will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive healthcare services. You'll work closely with patients, providing assessments, developing treatment strategies, and offering guidance on health promotion and disease prevention. The ideal candidate will be able to manage a patient volume of at least two patients per hour of patient-facing time.
Family Nurse Practitioner Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform physical exams and patient observations.
- Record patients' medical histories and symptoms.
- Develop new patient care plans and contribute to existing ones.
- Order, administer, and analyze diagnostic tests.
- Monitor and operate medical equipment.
- Diagnose health issues and administer medicine and other treatments.
- Detect changes in patient's health and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Consult with other healthcare professionals and families.
- Educate patients and their families on managing and preventing illness and injury.
Qualification Requirements:
- Master's degree from an accredited nursing program.
- Licensure in the State of Massachusetts and board-certified by either ANCC or AANP.
- Prescriptive authorization.
- Experience providing primary care as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
- Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems, medical records, and point-of-interview technology.
- Understanding of pertinent federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of disease prevention.
