Medical Technologist
Location: Pottstown, PA
Shift: Full-Time Nights (10:30 PM - 7:00 AM), every other weekend and holiday rotation required
Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Technologist to join our partner medical center in Pottstown, PA. This role offers the opportunity to contribute your expertise in a variety of laboratory areas, performing essential diagnostic testing and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of results.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Laboratory Assays: Conduct a wide range of moderate and high complexity clinical laboratory assays in areas such as Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, RIA/Serology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, and Microbiology.
- Quality Control: Perform and review quality control procedures, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test results. Conduct preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot equipment and testing problems, taking corrective action to ensure accurate and timely results.
- Result Reporting: Accurately interpret and report test results to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, including specimen processing, inventory management, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related science field.
- Experience: Relevant experience as a Medical Technologist is preferred, with at least 2 years of experience desired.
- Certifications:
- ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) certification or equivalent.
- Current BLS certification.
