Physical Therapist

Position Overview:

As a Physical Therapist, you will play a crucial role in helping patients regain their functional independence and improve their quality of life. You will assess patient needs, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Assessment and Treatment:
  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including assessments of strength, range of motion, balance, coordination, and functional mobility.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient goals and needs.
  • Administer therapeutic interventions, such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities (e.g., ultrasound, electrical stimulation).
  • Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, home exercise programs, and assistive devices.
• Collaboration:
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Participate in case conferences and team meetings to discuss patient care plans.
• Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy (BPT) or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Licensed to practice Physical Therapy in the State of Vermont.
• Experience:
  • No previous experience required, however, prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Skills and Certifications:

• Physical Therapist license for the State of VT (required)

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday with weekend rotation as needed.
