Job Description: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery
Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our partner's Labor and Delivery unit at a regional medical center in Kodiak, AK. This is a full-time position with a variable shift schedule and the potential for a $15,000 hiring bonus and relocation assistance for eligible candidates.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to women and infants during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods.
- Assess patient status, develop and implement nursing care plans, and administer medications as prescribed.
- Assist with deliveries and newborn care.
- Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs.
- Educate patients and their families about childbirth, newborn care, and postpartum recovery.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Alaska Registered Nurse License upon hire
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire
- ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN certifications required
- 2 or more years of recent experience in a Labor and Delivery unit
