Job Description
Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) for an Emergency Room (ER) position at our partner, an acute care hospital in Fort Defiance, AZ. This is a travel contract position offering competitive compensation and benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Provide emergency care to patients of all ages presenting with a variety of medical conditions.
- Triage patients, assess their condition, and initiate appropriate treatment plans.
- Administer medications, start IVs, and perform other necessary procedures.
- Monitor patient conditions, respond to emergencies, and stabilize patients for transport.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Arizona or ability to obtain one.
- Minimum of two years of recent RN experience in emergency nursing.
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC certifications required.
- Ability to obtain conscious sedation certification through the facility after confirmation ($105 fee).
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including mid-shifts (3pm-3am) and night shifts (7am-7pm).
- Flexibility to work different shifts and areas within the ED as needed, including triage, quick registration, COVID tent, and entry screening.
- Willingness to float to other departments as needed based on qualifications and experience.
Job Details:
- Shift: 12-hour shifts, primarily mid-shift and night shift, with potential for day shift coverage.
- Schedule: Typically 7 days on, 7 days off with varying hours.
- Maximum of one week RTO (Return to Original Shift) if needed.
- Potential for shift changes during contract to accommodate staffing needs.
Facility Details:
- The Emergency Department consists of 11-bed Main ED, 6-bed ED Fast Track, and 7-bed ED Observation Unit.
- Nurses rotate through all areas of the ED regularly.
- May be assigned to assist with COVID testing and/or immunization clinics as needed.
