As a Clinical Nurse Specialist - Education, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of critical care nursing. You will collaborate with a team of educators and specialists to support the professional development and practice needs of nurses and nursing support personnel.
Responsibilities
- Assess the learning needs of critical care nurses and develop and implement educational programs.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to nurses, fostering their professional growth and clinical expertise.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to promote evidence-based practice and implement clinical standards of care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research activities to enhance patient outcomes.
- Serve as a resource for nurses, providing consultation and support on complex patient care issues.
- Contribute to the development and revision of policies and procedures related to critical care nursing.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in critical care and promote a culture of continuous learning.
- Education:
- Master's Degree from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC). Or
- Ph.D. from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the CCNE or NLNAC. Or
- Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). Or
- Currently enrolled in a Master's, DNP, or Ph.D. clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the CCNE or NLNAC. Or
- Equivalent coursework and experience will be considered (e.g., Master's in Nursing or Doctoral degree in Nursing that did not major in the CNS role).
- Experience: 3 years of registered nursing experience in critical care.
- Licensure: Washington Registered Nurse License upon hire.
- Certifications: BLS - American Heart Association certification upon hire.
- Current certification as a CNS upon hire.
- Current certification in the area of specialty (e.g., CCRN) upon hire.
- 2 years of clinical leadership responsibility.
- Work at a leading Level II/III Trauma Center with a wide range of specialized services.
