We are the Visa Garage. We are building the next multibillion dollar businesses at Visa.
The Visa Garage is a new, unique entity at Visa, responsible for the exploration, incubation and launch of new business ventures. We operate independently to rapidly build, test, iterate, and scale ventures quickly. We are a team of entrepreneurs, designers, engineers, product developers and creators looking to build ambitious new ventures.
The Visa Garage Venture Operations Manager is a versatile role in the Visa Garage, able to lead multiple workstreams across the portfolio of Garage ventures and within a specific venture. The individual in this role will be responsible for leading and supporting the operations of the Garage and its portfolio, and individual ventures. You will work collaboratively with lean teams composed of Entrepreneurs in Residence, Product Managers, and full-stack developers in an entrepreneurial environment. As the Venture Operations Manager in the Visa Garage, you will be responsible for a variety of work across the Garage’s portfolio companies/ventures. This position is best suited for a flexible, action-oriented person who is self-driven and thrives in ambiguous settings.

You will be responsible for:
Garage Operations
Work closely with internal and external partner teams to ensure alignment on goals/scope, plan critical path and operational risks, and ensure transparent communication
Create milestone tracking and reporting mechanisms for individual ventures
Support the governance cadence with the Investment Committee
Support creating and managing the annual operating plan for the Visa Garage, including financial forecast (including sales goals), Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), and talent needs
Venture Operations
Support creating and managing the annual and ongoing financial and operating plan for individual ventures, including financial forecast (including sales goals), Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), and talent needs
Coordinate across individual ventures to assure key talents need are identified and filled
Design onboarding process for new teammates
Collaborate with Agile coaches to train new team members on fundamentals / cadence of agile ways of working
Evaluate and manage tools suite (e.g., Miro, Figma, SharePoint, etc.) used by the team to maximize collaboration, ideation, and efficiency in accordance with Agile methodologies. Help teammates learn and access tools.
Set and enforce operational policies and procedures
Liaise with Garage operation to access compliance, risk and talent resources
Liaise with key Visa functions (e.g., legal, marketing) to ensure flawless execution and speed
Liaise with key venture functions, including Product, Research and Design, IT/engineering, Entrepreneurs in Residence, etc.
Go-to-market for individual ventures
Support the development, testing, and execute go-to-market strategy that will allow ventures to get to market and scale quickly
Create client segmentation to guide prioritization and ensure go-to-market strategy is aligned
Utilize best practices, market benchmarks, user research and rapid testing / interation to set pricing and packaging
Determine channel strategy based on best practices and user research, with a view towards scale and profitability
Support the development of sales processes and collateral to support go-to-market motion
Build a Strong Team Culture
Identify, develop, lead and inspire a team of innovative, intellectually curious and engaged individuals focused on building and growing a new venture
Demonstrate strong leadership and people management skills, with a focus on developing diverse, high performing teams and fostering an inclusive culture that is inquisitive and collaborative
Create a team culture that amplifies the Visa Garage’s mandate, champions innovation and embraces startup mentality
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9 years of experience
• The ideal candidate will bring 10 years’ experience in business operations, including program management, go-to-market, client success with a bachelor’s degree or more than 5 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
• Experience working in the AP/AR space, including commercial payments, treasury software, procurement software
• Successful track record of bringing new products to market and scaling them
• Experience setting and implementing operational cadence for an organization
• Exceptional analytical, communication, and presentation skills, with experience developing presentations conveying insights from data analysis
• Demonstrable ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, able to ruthlessly prioritize and identify the most important item to focus on
• High aptitude to learn quickly, assimilate to new teams and projects, and work well under pressure with appropriate attention to detail
• Organized and comfortable creating and executing workplans
• Strong EQ and presence, and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with people from various teams and various backgrounds
• Must be self-motivated, have a bias-to-action, and be comfortable with ambiguity
• Ability to inspire and influence those around you, even without direct management responsibility, proven success influencing senior stakeholders, and decision makers
• Intellectual curiosity a must - payments or technology industry knowledge and cross-border transaction experience a significant plus

Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
