Job Description
We are a high volume out patient imaging center in search of an experienced medical receptionist. Applicant must be available to work any scheduled shift Monday through Friday 6:30 am to 7:30 pm as well as an occasional Saturday or Sunday anytime between 06:30 am to 7:00 pm.
Under the direction of the Front Office Supervisor, provides services to patients and referring professionals by answering phones, cheerfully greeting and registering patients and performing other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Creates a positive experience for every patient, every day. Checks-in patients scheduled for imaging services; registers demographic information and processes payment plans. Answers phones and handles calls in an efficient and friendly manner. Fields calls appropriately for center associates. Maintains front office lobby area by straightening magazines, and assisting with general office clean up. Faxes reports, billing information, and medical release forms as requested.
Scheduling & Insurance: Schedules patients and enters orders. Accurately maintains patient records within radiology information system. Checks all exams for pre-certification with patient’s insurance company. Uses knowledge of insurance carriers (example Medicare) and procedures that require waivers to obtain authorization if needed prior to appointment.
Performs other duties as assigned

Ability to maintain regular attendance and on-time arrival to work as scheduled. SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
1-2 years customer service experience.
Proficient with using computer systems and typing
Bilingual- Spanish
Preferred:
Previous medical office experience
Medical terminology and office background
