The Senior Staff Accountant, reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, plays a key role on the Finance Team. This self-motivated and driven individual monitor financial activities and oversees financial statement accounts, facilitates month-end close processes; designs and provides financial analysis; champions process improvements and standardization; research problem areas, recommends solutions, and follows up on needed actions. This position requires an aptitude for data analysis, research, critical thinking, sound judgement, excellent communication and collaboration, and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet competing deadlines.
Responsibilities
What You Will Do:
- Prepare timely account reconciliations.
- Prepare and record general journal entries, as needed.
- Contribute to the month and year end close process and review.
- Analyze financial transactions against budget and trend to identify errors or inconsistencies.
- Assist in other areas of accounting (debt, fixed assets, leases, etc.)
- Maintain bank account documentation and assist in the treasury function.
- Sales & use and other state/local tax fillings.
- Work with the accounts payable department during month end review to ensure that all appropriate costs are included.
- Identify and drive process improvements, including creating report templates and dashboards.
- Support in integrating future acquisitions into our system.
- Ad-hoc projects and analysis as needed.
Qualifications
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related fields along with a minimum of three years of relevant accounting experience.
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred but not required.
- Public accounting experience is a plus.
- Experience and demonstrated understanding of accounting principles, accounting processes, and financial statements.
- Experience and understanding of health care accounting preferred.
- Experience with annual financial audit is preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel and advanced data tools.
- Experience with cost-benefit analysis is preferred.
- Personal integrity and professional experience working with confidential and sensitive information.
- Skilled using various accounting software - NetSuite and Mineral Tree experience is a PLUS!
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet multiple deadlines.
- Skilled in data gathering, analysis, and problem-solving.
- Business acumen and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
$70,000.00-$85,000.00 Annually
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as, but not limited to full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility, annual educational reimbursement, and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO). Salary : $70,000 - $85,000
