Key Responsibilities
- Asset Pickup & Delivery: Pick up government-owned equipment from the warehouse and deliver it to the designated operating locations. Ensure all necessary documentation is completed accurately during the process.
- Equipment Configuration & Testing: Configure, test, and install IT hardware according to operational requirements. Verify that all equipment is fully functional before installation.
- Inventory Updates: Regularly update and maintain accurate inventory records using the government-provided asset inventory control system. Follow prescribed procedures for asset tracking, management, and reporting.
- Equipment Removal: Follow prescribed procedures for the removal of outdated or obsolete equipment, delivering it back to the warehouse for proper storage or disposal.
- Physical Labor: Perform physical tasks, including lifting, relocating, and positioning heavy IT equipment as required for operational support.
- Compliance with Government Regulations: Ensure that all duties are carried out in accordance with DAFMAN 17-1203, ITAM guidelines, and other relevant government policies and regulations.
- Coordination with Host Accountable Property Officer (APO): Collaborate with the Host APO or their designated authority to ensure the proper custody and responsibility of all IT hardware on the installation.
- Ability to lift and handle heavy equipment (must be able to lift up to 50lbs).
- Strong attention to detail for inventory tracking and asset management.
- Familiarity with government asset management systems, specifically the government-provided asset inventory control system.
- Prior experience in property management, IT hardware, or logistics is preferred.
- Knowledge of DAFMAN 17-1203 and ITAM guidelines is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy IT hardware (must be able to lift up to 50lbs).
- Ability to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods while completing tasks.
- The position requires work in both warehouse and operational environments.
- Interaction with various units and government personnel to ensure seamless equipment management.
- This position is currently limited to the 61 CS but may expand to include other unit property custodial requirements as contracts evolve.
- The equipment managed by the Property Custodian is considered incidental to the place of performance and remains available for use by the Government as needed.
