About the Role
As a Contact Lens Technician, your role goes far beyond dispensing lenses, you’re helping patients experience their best possible vision. Contact lenses offer freedom and comfort to many, and your work ensures every patient receives the right fit, care, and education to enjoy life more fully.
You’ll team up closely with doctors, technicians, opticians, and front desk team members to deliver outstanding care. From training first-time wearers to managing inventory and educating patients about their insurance coverage, you’ll have the opportunity to make a positive difference with each interaction.

No prior experience is necessary. On-the-job training and continuous education will be provided!

Key Responsibilities
- Receive patient handoffs from doctors, techs, or opticians and verify contact lens details (prescription, base curve, wear schedule, etc.)
- Access and verify insurance coverage, enter billing details, and create accurate invoices
- Educate patients on contact lens care, usage, and hygiene—especially for first-time wearers
- Confidently explain fitting fees, coverage, rebates, and benefits of annual supply purchases
- Dispense diagnostic lenses or place orders, label clearly, and set expectations for arrival
- Prepare and manage inventory, including fitting sets and saleable stock
- Assist with follow-up appointment scheduling and handoffs to the next department (e.g. optician)
- Support the team with administrative tasks, billing assistance, and occasional front desk coverage
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workspace
