Location : Chicago, IL (Day 1 onsite)

Job Description:
- Analyze and understand business processes to identify system requirements and develop functional specifications.
- Collaborate with business users and technical teams to gather and document functional requirements.
- Design, implement, and maintain CLP (Control Language Programming) scripts and programs on the AS400 system.
- Conduct thorough testing of system configurations and customizations to ensure proper functionality.
- Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for AS400-related applications and systems.
- Develop and implement data extraction, transformation, and reporting solutions using AS400 tools and utilities.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Assist with user training, documentation, and technical support.
- Stay up-to-date with new developments and best practices in the AS400 and CLP domain.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with AS400 systems, including hands-on experience with CLP programming.
- Strong knowledge of AS400 architecture, including system administration, security, and backup processes.
- Familiarity with DB2/400, SQL, and other relevant AS400 tools.
- Proven ability to gather business requirements, perform functional analysis, and translate them into technical solutions.
- Experience with troubleshooting and providing support for AS400 systems.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Knowledge of industry best practices in AS400/CLP system administration is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with integrating AS400 systems with other platforms and technologies (e.g., web services, middleware).
- Familiarity with modernizing AS400 applications or migrating to cloud-based environments.
- Knowledge of ITIL or similar service management frameworks.
- Understanding of Agile or other project management methodologies.
