A leading food manufacturing company located in the City of Industry is seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the preventive and predictive maintenance of all equipment to ensure smooth and continuous operation across three shifts, seven days a week.
Position Objective:
The Facility Maintenance Supervisor will possess strong leadership, technical expertise, and a results-oriented mindset to troubleshoot, repair, and improve processes related to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, as well as the facilities of our production plants.
Key Responsibilities: Maintenance Operations:
- Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and maximize production efficiency.
- Lead troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair activities for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize equipment performance and reliability.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor the maintenance team across all shifts, ensuring alignment with company goals and safety standards.
- Coordinate training programs to enhance team skills in troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance best practices.
- Manage shift schedules to ensure adequate maintenance coverage across all three shifts.
Facility Management:
- Ensure the proper maintenance and functionality of all facilities, including production lines, utilities, and safety systems.
- Collaborate with the Production, Quality, and Safety teams to identify and address facility-related issues impacting operations.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment repairs, and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company safety standards.
- Monitor and manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability while controlling costs.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the Production team to address and resolve equipment-related challenges impacting output.
- Communicate maintenance updates, progress, and performance metrics to the Maintenance Manager and other stakeholders.
Job Qualifications/Skills/Essential Functions/Working Conditions:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Proven ability to lead, develop, and manage a maintenance team.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is a plus.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Must supply own tools.
- Must be able to work safely and accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to push/pull/lift/ carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and access roof using all safety protocols.
- Must provide non-slip resistant, safety composite toe work shoes.
- Ability to stand 100% of the time
- Communicate and follow food safety commitment policy
- The role requires flexibility to address maintenance needs across three shifts, including weekends and holidays as necessary.
- Work may involve exposure to manufacturing environments, including noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
- Must be able to lift, move, and handle heavy equipment or tools as required.
- Ability to work in an environment with exposure to seafood, crustaceans, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, milk, eggs, whey, sesame without incident.
