Job Description
As a Cost Accountant, you will analyze financial information and prepare journal entries to record the organization’s assets, liabilities, profits, and losses, as well as other economic activities. In this role, you will support the local accounting and finance structure, working directly with operations and assisting other facilities as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Participate actively in assigned accounting and month-end closing processes under US GAAP.
- Perform month-end journal entries for closing, conduct general ledger account analysis, and reconcile Balance Sheet accounts using Blackline.
- Collaborate with site personnel and the Business Services Center (BSC) regarding fixed asset issues and other accounting activities within your area of responsibility.
- Assist in resolving any issues that could affect the timely completion of month-end closing and communicate promptly with the Accounting Supervisor.
- Familiarize yourself with and adhere to all Corporate Accounting Policies in your area of responsibility.
- Comply with all Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) procedures.
- Conduct sales and margin analysis.
- Process accruals.
- Reconcile month-end bookings.
- Manage and own the standard costing system.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Required Experience / Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
- Intermediate-level proficiency in Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships.
- Diligent and detail-oriented.
- Flexible and capable of driving process improvements as needed.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Familiarity with systems such as Symix, BPC, and SAP is beneficial.
