The Director of Pricing is responsible for developing and executing pricing strategies. This role collaborates with Senior Management, Category Management, and the Wholesale Sales Team to achieve financial goals while maintaining a competitive market position and favorable customer price perceptions. The Director has a proven ability to build and manage effective relationships and oversees the promotional profitability of offers. Additionally, this position involves collaborative interactions with Marketing and Planning / Forecasting. The Director of Pricing works across all levels of the organization and manages a team of direct reports.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Execute pricing strategies by analyzing department and SKU-level price differences compared to competitors, conducting price surveys using third-party resources, and meeting with Category Management, Wholesale, Retail, and E-commerce teams to recommend price changes based on the current competitive landscape, cost changes, promotions, and any new or discontinued items.
- Develop effective pricing strategies across stores, digital platforms, and wholesale channels to enhance sales, drive traffic, and achieve gross margin goals while considering category roles, competition, and financial objectives.
- Provide overall pricing direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs, developing and communicating strategic plans, and evaluating operational processes, tools, and systems. Identify opportunities for improvement and encourage continuous learning.
- Drive the profitability and incremental gains of promotions and sales through collaboration with Merchants, Planners, Marketing, and E-commerce teams.
- Work with Category Management and Planning teams on SKU lifecycle management.
- Train pricing personnel in pricing strategy processes and tools, provide feedback on pricing strategies, assist in analytics preparation, and facilitate their professional development.
- Attract, retain, and develop a highly skilled and engaged workforce by identifying capability gaps, recruiting and selecting talent, supporting mentorship and workforce development, and planning for succession.
