Job Description
The Manager of Application Development and Support is responsible for overseeing the ongoing support and enhancement of Hyperion Applications, Hyperion Server Infrastructure, SAS (Statistical Analysis System) infrastructure, and SAS Applications. This role involves managing, directing, and mentoring a team of application development professionals in their daily activities to ensure effective care and maintenance of these applications. The Manager will also oversee systems architecture, standards, and data integrity, ensuring that systems are secure, scalable, durable, and adequately supported.
Primary Responsibilities
- Team Management: Coach, mentor, and direct the day-to-day tasks of development resources to ensure adherence to software development best practices. This includes ensuring that code is well-structured and efficient while following appropriate source code and change management practices.
- Project Management: Effectively manage all phases of the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to deliver projects, maintenance, and enhancement requests within established timelines and budgets. Ensure effective resource management to maximize throughput across the portfolio of work while maintaining product quality through sound design, development, and testing.
- Continual Evaluation: Regularly assess architecture, platforms, standards, processes, and procedures to guarantee the security, stability, durability, performance, and functionality of the systems.
- Technical Support: Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for the applications managed. Ensure that issues are resolved by corporate service level standards.
Skills
- At least 3 years of experience managing direct reports, including coaching and developing employees while ensuring technical delivery.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in the financial services industry.
- Proficiency with Hyperion tools, including Hyperion Planning, Financial Reports, Essbase, EPMA, EAS, DRM, Hyperion security configuration, and Smart View.
- Experience collaborating with finance, planning, and analytics teams to gather business requirements and develop, implement, and deliver Hyperion-based solutions.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL Server, and SSIS for efficient data management and integration. Expert-level proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL), ETL tools and practices, databases, reporting tools, and web development technologies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to comprehend business ideas and propose innovative solutions.
- Proficient in SAS (Analytics software and solutions), Office Analytics, Enterprise Guide, Management Console, DI Studio, and CPM, demonstrating a strong understanding of these tools.
