Job Description
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop PL/SQL code and Oracle stored procedures for a large government database.
- Create ETL processes using external tables, SQL*Loader control files, and Linux shell scripts.
- Pass XML data and insert it into the corresponding tables.
- Collaborate with the data architect to implement modern designs or modifications.
- Investigate and resolve database performance issues related to DML (Data Manipulation Language).
- Understand the components of both the logical and physical layers of Oracle, including data files, tablespaces, partitioning, and compression.
- Create simple Oracle APEX applications.
Experience, Functional and Technical Requirements:
- A current or recent Common Access Card (CAC) is required.
- Ability to pass a Public Trust background check is required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or five years of relevant experience is necessary.
- Proficient in Oracle PL/SQL and stored procedures.
Skills/Abilities:
- Must take initiative and be able to work independently to solve problems.
- Experience with SQL Developer or other development tools.
- Familiarity with Oracle collections.
- Experience in mitigating database performance issues using Explain Plan.
- Ability to evaluate business requirements for databases.
- Experience with various ETL tools and methods for transferring data.
- Basic understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting.
- Oracle APEX development experience is a plus.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $68.00 - $69.00 per hour
