Quality Analyst/Engineer – Workday Subject Matter Expert (SME)
As part of an HCM and Finance Workday implementation, the responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with developers to define testing requirements for Workday implementation in-sprint tickets. Providing early feedback, identifying potential issues, and contributing to the configuration of testable and maintainable code.
- Working with application requirements to write test cases, test plans, and both manual and automated tests, and deploying those tests as part of the build process.
- Writing regression test scripts, preferably automated.
- Monitoring deployments and working closely with the Business Analyst (BA)/Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Team to gather data and understand application functionality.
- Collaborating with the Workday configuration team, including Solutions Architects and Consultants, as well as the ERP Team and business stakeholders to uphold quality throughout the development process.
- Creating automated API tests to ensure the quality of interface contracts for all Digital Web UI products.
- Contributing innovative ideas to improve software practices and processes.
- Ensuring that Azure DevOps is updated with accurate information during the testing process.
- Working with Workday Performance Engineers to refine and enhance deployments, aiming for a high-performing application.
- Executing test plans and test cases based on application requirements and technical specifications. Conducting both manual testing and utilizing automated testing tools to identify and report issues.
- Performing regression testing to ensure that previously identified and resolved defects do not recur.
- Carefully documenting test results and creating detailed bug reports.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology with over 5 years of hands-on Workday experience.
- Strong understanding of abstraction and the ability to scale testing frameworks to cover base use cases while customizing for brand-specific properties.
- Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms and best practices in security.
- Proven experience as a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer, QA Tester, or a similar role in software development.
- Solid understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG).
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Diligence and a passion for delivering high-quality software products.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a challenging environment.
