Data Engineer
Excellent opportunity for a candidate with a strong background in cloud-based data pipelines, Java microservices, and data platform migrations. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to support data migrations, build scalable data tools, and ensure smooth transitions for customers moving to our next-gen platform.
Candidates will need to be highly motivated, creative, self-directed, and thrive in small project teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Dataproc, BigQuery, and Dataflow.
- Collaborate with teams on data migration projects, moving customer data to a new cloud-based platform.
- Develop and maintain Java and Spring Boot-based microservices supporting the data engineering ecosystem.
- Work with DevOps tools like Jenkins for CI/CD and Datadog for monitoring and alerting.
- Build internal tooling to support platform operations and ensure data integrity during migration.
- Partner with product and platform teams to deliver robust, efficient, and secure data solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production and development environments.
- Write clear technical documentation and contribute to best practices in engineering standards.
This is a 6 month contract opportunity with the option to extend or convert at the end of the contract. Candidates can sit hybrid in St. Louis, MO working 3 days/week onsite. Successful candidates have a high level of initiative and thrive in a fast paced, enterprise environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Proven experience in data engineering and java development.
- Hands-on experience with Dataproc, BigQuery, and Dataflow.
- Strong programming skills in Java and experience with Spring Boot.
- Experience building and deploying microservices architectures.
- Solid understanding of cloud computing concepts and architectures.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and monitoring tools like Datadog.
- Experience working on data migration projects is a strong plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
