Visionary Broadband seeks a qualified individual to fulfill the role of Fiber Construction Manager. This full-time, salaried position will join the Fiber team at Visionary Broadband, a division of Visionary Communications, Inc., one of the top service providers in the region. The position will be located in Gillette(or Northeast WY).

Job Overview:

We are seeking a hands-on Fiber Construction Manager who thrives in the field, ensuring that projects are executed with precision and quality. The ideal candidate will lead by example, spending time on-site to oversee the construction of fiber optic networks. This role requires a proactive manager who is committed to delivering projects on time, within budget, and at the highest quality standards. A "boots on the ground" approach is essential to ensuring the success of our fiber construction efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage fiber optic construction projects, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
• Maintain a strong on-site presence to directly oversee daily operations, troubleshoot issues, and provide real-time direction to field crews.
• Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, coordinating closely with project management and field teams.
• Foster a collaborative work environment, ensuring field crews and subcontractors are aligned with project goals.
• Ensure all construction activities comply with safety standards, quality expectations, and industry regulations.
• Conduct frequent site visits to verify work progress, ensure compliance with specifications, and uphold quality control standards.
• Manage materials, equipment, and resources on-site to maintain project efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Act as the primary point of contact between field operations and stakeholders, addressing concerns and providing updates.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, photos.
• Ensure that invoiced amounts accurately reflect on-site progress and completed work.
• Survey fiber backbone or zone using Juniper Systems rugged tablet and GPS to accurately document the location of our fiber infrastructure, whether underground or aerial.
• Use Vetro Mobile to make real-time design adjustments in the field as needed during on-site operations.

Qualifications:

A qualified candidate must possess the following skills, or have equivalent experience and/or qualifications:

• 3 years of Construction Management experience, preferably in the fiber or telecommunications industry.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent organizational skills and must be detail oriented.
• Great knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, as well as ability to quickly learn and work within proprietary computer applications.
• Flexibility to work outside of standard 8am-5pm hours and be willing to travel on a limited basis.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with demonstrated problem solving abilities

Physical Requirements:

This position requires sitting to complete work with a computer using a variety of software applications and telephone.

15% / - of the time will be spent walking and standing in the field with various weather conditions, as well as occasional lifting and / or carrying and / or pushing / pulling of items less than 25lbs. Visual and audio acuity is essential to this position.
