Title: Envelope Adjuster

Summary:
The Envelope Adjuster will set up and operate W D 527 and/or W D 627 printing and converting equipment. This role includes independently managing job changes, such as window and size adjustments, while overseeing machine operators and ensuring the production of high-quality envelopes. Responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The role requires adherence to health and safety standards, including the use of personal protective equipment. The Envelope Adjuster will also develop or possess knowledge of Flexographic printing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and set up converting equipment in various configurations to meet work order specifications.
- Perform quality inspections, ensuring accurate envelope, window, and flap dimensions.
- Train and guide machine operators to ensure efficient production processes.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues as needed.
- Maintain adequate levels of supplies such as glue, ink, and window film.
- Inform the supervisor and quality control team of any quality concerns or inventory issues.
- Complete production reports with relevant details, including job number, activity codes, and shift information.
- Ensure a safe workspace by maintaining cleanliness and adhering to proper lifting techniques and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an envelope adjuster with machines such as W D 527, 627, or 102.
- Physical ability to bend, kneel, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Strong communication skills in clear business English, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining accountability for quality and productivity.
- Professional, dependable, and committed to following safety rules and procedures, including the use of required safety equipment.
- Must be willing and able to work 12-hour shifts.
- Basic tools required to perform responsibilities (specialized tools provided).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience or willingness to learn Flexographic printing on belly and central impression units.
- Strong troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills.
