Position Title: Tool Builder 1
Location: Auburn Hills
Shifts Needed: Day
Days | Monday- Friday 6a-4:45p Saturday 6a-12p

Under the supervision of the department supervisor, entry level tool builders are responsible for various manual tasks such as cleaning, maintenance, assisting, and unloading materials. While working and learning directly from the more seasoned employees, they use hand and some air tools and assist crews with other necessary tasks. They must have stamina, the ability to lift heavy loads, be able to concentrate on performing tasks and commit to safety rules.
Responsibilities
- Assist the manufacturing leaders and seasoned employees with project specific work as deemed necessary.
- Raise general maintenance issues to the supervisor as problems arise.
- Assist, as required, in the movement of materials or equipment within facility.
- Responsible for all activities related to shop cleaning and maintenance, including any required outside grounds keeping.
- Ensure that all of the assigned activities are completed as scheduled.
- Must be able to achieve quality and production goals.
- Deburring, paint prep, stenciling and ID of materials
- Drill and tap holes
- Clean up work areas from hazardous or obsolete material
- Assist builders on site
- Handle, gather, and transport materials and equipment
- Willing to learn how to operate a hi-low and overhead crane.
- Use power tools and machinery as needed
- Follow OSHA safety guidelines, and ITAR compliance
- Other duties as assigned

- Limited or no prior tool builder experience necessary.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Standing for long periods of time, lifting loads up to 50 pounds, bending, stooping, twisting.
- Good hand-eye coordination
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
