Description:
The Technical Writer would be responsible for supporting the ongoing operational documentation requirements for our DoD customer in Arlington VA. This position is supporting an effort to develop an organization wide standardized approach to processes, procedures, and documentation.
Responsibilities Include:
· Work with stakeholders and subject matter experts to translate elaborate technical material into easy to consume materials and artifacts.
· Prepare and maintain user guides, manuals, and technical publications.
· Perform editorial functions, including formatting and stylesheet verification, copy editing, rewriting, revising, writing, and proofreading.
· Edit reports, responses, and briefings targeted to a wide range of internal and external facing stakeholders.
· Manage request for data collection and incorporate into draft documentation.
· Develop and update documentation for Visioneering.
Preferred Knowledge and Experience:
The ideal candidate will have skills and experience in some or all the following areas:
· IT Operations – Voice, Data, Applications, Network etc.
· Project Management
· Systems Engineering
· Help Desk Services
· Contract and Program Management
· Cyber Security Accreditation
· Written and verbal communication skills
- Author documents commensurate with the target audience’s level of comprehension.
- Use of graphics and “white space” to add clarity and visual interest.
- Ability to develop documentation based upon interviews and data calls with the topic’s Subject Matter expert.
- Apply personal experience and understanding to content of written product.
Minimum Requirements:
· 5 years relevant training, knowledge, & experience.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite to include Project, Publisher, and Visio.
· U.S Citizen / Secret Security Clearance will be required.
