Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
Maintains quality standards by performing inspections, checks, tests, and sampling procedures of incoming materials, parts, and components.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspect, count, and approve incoming parts by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, rejecting and returning unacceptable parts, and working with vendors on corrective action reporting.
Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating required adjustments to the production supervisor.
Approve finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
Documents inspection results by completing forms, reports, and logs, summarizes re-work and waste.
Maintain all controlled document files and test records promptly and accurately.
Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and scheduling repairs.
Vendor audits should be kept current and performed regularly.
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
Other duties as needed:
Assist with inspections
Assist with audits
Assist with Corrective and Preventive Actions
Other tasks may be assigned based on the business needs and the department supervisor’s request.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proficient in English and practical communication skills.
Proficiency in Math
Basic computer skills
Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access)
Attention to detail
Analytical, Documentation, and Reporting skills
Blueprint reading preferred
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience With Quality Control Techniques Preferred
Experience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, calipers, and other measuring instruments
Two to three years of quality inspector experience.
Physical requirements:
Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
