New Product Development Engineer

Position Summary:
Our client LSI, is seeking a focused and analytical New Product Development Engineer to join our design team. This role involves collaborating with research and design teams, conceptualizing and designing new products, testing product designs, and drafting manufacturing specifications for new lighting products.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with marketing and stakeholders to translate customer requirements into product designs.
Conceptualize and develop functional and aesthetic product designs aligning with product vision.
Create prototypes to validate and refine product concepts.
Conduct testing and experiments to ensure product performance, reliability, and safety.
Optimize design for performance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
Use CAD software (SolidWorks) to generate detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to source components and materials.
Assist in establishing production processes and provide technical support during manufacturing transitions.
Create and maintain accurate documentation, including design files, specifications, and test reports.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications.
Monitor product performance post-launch and identify opportunities for improvement.
Gather customer feedback and propose design enhancements to improve functionality and competitiveness.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Design preferred).
Strong technical knowledge in product design, development, and manufacturing processes.
Experience with SolidWorks and other relevant engineering software.
Background in lighting design is a plus.
Creative mindset for developing innovative product solutions.
