We have an immediate opening for a Film Marketing Manager to promote the Live Music Capital of the World® as a filming destination! This full-time, exempt, salaried position working within the Austin Film Commission.
Summary of Position and Duties :
- Participate and help execute marketing missions with direct reach to decisionmakers in the film and television industry. This may include travel out of market for promotion, meetings, tradeshows, and events.
- Work with government groups and stakeholders to ensure that state and local programs like incentive programs and regulations continue to be competitive and help spur filming.
- Serve as an ombudsman / advocate for film production to local government. Act as liaison between film companies and permitting offices, constituents and businesses.
- Assist select media production companies with location scouting, including photography and accompanying productions on site tours.
- Grow the Austin Film Commission location database to market the region to potential clients by researching, contacting and photographing properties in the greater Austin area.
- Provide resources and local referrals for film production companies. This includes maintaining and growing the Austin Film Commission Production Directory of local crew and vendors.
- Work with Sr. Director in the development of an integrated marketing plan, budget, goals and strategy. Help implement programs for film related projects and promotions as well as work toward monthly and annual goals.
- Oversee film social media platforms, managing the office’s online presence with scheduled posts.
- Manage and build Reel-Scout production database, refresh website information and film event calendars.
- Represent Visit Austin and manage relationships with Austin-based film organizations, festivals, hospitality and local business community.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with studio and independent film producers, commercial producers, production companies, TV networks, streaming services, documentary and other media makers encouraging them to produce their projects in Austin.
- Make direct presentations to the hospitality industry, civic groups, film classes, and community organizations.
- Coordinate advertising / promotion with Marketing Communications Department
- Providing daily time-oriented administrative support as well as community and industry interfacing to troubleshoot and provide resources as needed.
- Perform other tasks and administrative duties as required.
