Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Visitor & Meetings Service Manager. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless execution of meetings, events, sports services to provide a warm and welcoming experience in Kansas City Kansas. The position is responsible for enhancing visitor perception by overseeing the planning and execution of events and ensuring exceptional service delivery to clients. The ideal candidate should be customer-focused, detail-oriented and have experience in the client service or hospitality industry. Some nights and weekends are required, as well as some overnight travel.

Responsibilities

Meetings, Conventions and Sports Services:

  • Along with the Director of Sales, act as a point of contact for meeting, convention planners and sports rights holders.
  • Assist conventions, conferences, business meetings and sports-related events in making their events successful.
  • Work closely with local venues, hotels and vendors to ensure seamless coordination of events.
  • Collaborate with local sports organizations and facilities to provide specialized services for sports-related events.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of sports tournaments, competitions and activities.
  • As needed, coordinate logistics, transportation and accommodations for sports teams and participants.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, event planners, sports organizations, and stakeholders.
  • Respond to inquiries, provide information, and address concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Manage all inquiries, contacts, and information within the Simpleview CRM in a timely manner.

Visitor Services:

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the overall visitor experience.
  • Coordinate and manage visitor information services, including maps, guides, hospitality programs, and specialized sports services.
  • Collaborate with local businesses and attractions to provide special offers and discounts for visitors.
  • Select, support and enhance the visitor experience at information booths/vendor tables throughout the year.
  • Build, lead and mentor the visitor experience team.
  • Develop training programs to enhance team members' skills in customer service and destination knowledge.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Plan and schedule visitor experience team staff members for shifts for vendor booths/information tables.
  • Provide planning and logistical support for events put on by Visit KCK such as fams, site visits, media visits, partner events, giveaways, etc.

  • Knowledge of client service and hospitality community.
  • Exceptional people skills with aptitude for professionalism, responsiveness and follow-up.
  • Highly motivated, energetic, and organized.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks, prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated skills in public speaking, presentation, oral and written communication.
  • Ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
  • General knowledge of Kansas City KS and the KC metro area

Requirements

  • Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience in client service, hospitality or related industry
  • College degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to move and transport boxes weighing up to 50 pounds and set up trade show and information booths
  • Ability to work evenings/weekends when necessary.
  • Occasional overnight to attend trade shows

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $49,000.00 - $56,228.00 per year
