What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trolley Driver position at Visit Madison, Inc,?
Visit Madison Indiana is seeking drivers for the new trolleys for private events (weddings, rentals) or public tours in the Madison and Jefferson County area. Driver is not required to give tours, a trained tour guide will ride along if needed. Part-time position, with flexibility to take shifts as available on days, weekends, and evenings.
Key Expectations & Responsibilities:
· Transports passengers between destinations;
· Performs pre and post trip inspection of vehicle assigned;
· Maintains and cleans vehicle;
· Keep track of hours, mileage, fluid/fuel levels & alert superiors if any issues.
· Assists passengers load or disembark when necessary;
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills and Experience:
· Ability to safely operate a trolley, bus, or other large commercial vehicle;
· Ability to effectively communicate with other staff and members of the public;
· Ability to keep accurate records;
· Knowledge of Indiana state traffic laws and Jefferson County Indiana roads;
Additional Requirements:
· High school diploma or G.E.D. or any equivalent combination of acceptable education and experience which has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities cited may be considered.
· Valid Indiana or Kentucky Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement.
· Clean driving record.
· Subject to drug and alcohol testing as required under federal regulations.
· Must have the physical ability to push/pull, squat twist and turn and have the ability to evacuate people from the bus in the event of dangerous conditions and be able to sit for long periods of times. Work involves risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, or machines, and/or avoidance of trips and falls, observance of traffic signals, and/or working in moderate to adverse outdoor weather conditions.
