Position Overview
Visit Oakdale is seeking a talented Social Media Content Coordinator to oversee and execute our social media presence across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. This contract role involves creating a cohesive monthly content calendar, producing engaging posts, and coordinating with a team of freelance creatives to collect visual assets. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of social media trends, excellent copywriting skills, and a passion for promoting Oakdale as a premier travel destination.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Planning: Develop a monthly content calendar for Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, scheduling 2–4 posts per week.
- Content Creation: Create simple carousel photo posts and video reels.
- Copywriting: Write compelling, brand-aligned captions for posts that drive engagement and promote Oakdale’s attractions and events.
- Asset Coordination: Collaborate with Visit Oakdale’s President and freelance creatives to gather photos, videos, and other visual materials needed for posts.
- Strategy Development: Create an annual social media strategy for Visit Oakdale, including goals, key themes, and measurable success metrics.
- Engagement: Monitor social media accounts for comments and messages, responding or escalating as necessary.
- Analytics: Track and report on the performance of social media campaigns, using insights to refine content strategies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing social media platforms for brands, organizations, or destinations.
- Strong copywriting and storytelling skills with an eye for detail.
- Ability to collaborate with creative teams to develop visual content.
- Familiarity with Oakdale, CA, and its attractions is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of social media trends, algorithms, and best practices, particularly for Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
