We are looking for caring and dedicated Caregivers, Personal Care Assistants (PCAs), and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to provide companionship, support and assistance who require care due to age, illness, or disability.
What will you do during a typical shift?
- Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist with mobility and ambulation, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.
- Administer medications and follow prescribed treatment plans under the guidance of a healthcare professional.
- Monitor and report changes in the client's condition to the appropriate healthcare personnel.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and ensure dietary preferences and restrictions are followed.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks, including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Offer companionship, engage in conversation, and provide emotional support to clients.
- Accompany clients to medical appointments or outings, as required.
- Document care provided, including changes in the client's condition, medications administered, and other important information.
- Respect and promote the client's dignity, privacy, and independence at all times.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other caregivers to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to care.
What do skills and experience do you need to have to qualify?
- MUST live within 25 miles of Townsend.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- MUST have a strong commitment to providing compassionate care and support.
- Must be prepared and authorized to work in the area within a week of applying.
- Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent qualification for PCAs is preferred.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trust with clients.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Physical stamina and the ability to assist with lifting and transferring clients.
- Ability to follow care plans and adapt to the changing needs of clients.
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is a plus.
