Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE: The Care Director ensures the delivery of excellent care and a remarkable customer/employee experience in both Northern Colorado and our developing Cheyenne location. The Care Director reports to the Co-Directors.
Classification: Salary, exempt position. Minimum 40 hours per week.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Supervise all aspects of providing care to all clients.
- Supervise Caregiver performance and compliance.
- Ensure company standards as a high-quality provider through the implementation of high- quality care and exceptional customer service.
- Provide timely and effective feedback to the senior management.
- Cooperate with our HR Specialist and Recruiter/Trainer in the recruitment, training, supervising of Caregivers and Care Management Team members.
- Provide leadership, direction and development of Caregivers, Care Managers, Staffing Specialists, and Assistant Care Managers.
- Perform client assessments, starts of care, and introductions as needed.
- Handle Caregiver and Client related problems.
- Perform Caregiver reviews as assigned.
- Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources, including but not limited to doctor’s offices, senior care facilities, discharge managers, other care agencies, and the Veterans Administration.
- Fill emergency shifts when an appropriate caregiver cannot be tasked to care for the client.
- Perform duties as deemed appropriate by the management team
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND PERSONAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Be a Registered Nurse in Colorado or Wyoming with an active credential in good standing, and be willing to represent our Cheyenne location as Care Director for licensing purposes.
- Three years of experience in positions of increasing responsibility, preferably, but not limited to, Private Duty Home Care.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) applications, scheduling systems and other health care industry related software.
- Excellent conceptual thinking skills with the ability to analyze complex issues sensitive in nature. Excel in conflict resolution and implement the solutions.
- Ability to listen and communicate clearly, fluently, diplomatically orally and in writing.
- Ability to remain flexible, resilient, calm and maintain a sense of humor; and present a well-groomed professional image.
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, delegate and accurately follow through in work activities with time constraints and interruptions to meet deadlines, as well as, work independently with a minimum amount of direction and/or supervision.
- Ability to generate goodwill for the organization and its management among staff, clients, and referral sources. Demonstrate a strong commitment to client service excellence.
- Possess and maintain good physical and mental health, including current TB testing.
- U.S. Citizen or evidence of valid Alien Work Permit.
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
- Sitting, standing, bending, reaching, stretching, stooping, walking, climbing stairs and moving intermittently during working hours.
- Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs.
- Must be able to properly operate office equipment.
- Must be able to maintain verbal and written communication with co-workers, leadership team, supervisors, clients, family members, vendors and all business associates within or outside the agency.
- Must be able to drive to Cheyenne on average once per week to meet with and develop the Cheyenne Care Management Team.
