Job Overview
Immediate Opening for an Experienced Caregiver in the Wyncote Area. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Sunday shift Direct Care Worker (DCW) to provide essential support and care to our residents. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting individuals with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, particularly for those with specific needs such as dementia or hospice care.
Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide patient monitoring to ensure safety and well-being throughout the shift.
- Lift and transfer residents as needed, utilizing proper techniques to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive environment.
- Observe and report any changes in residents' conditions or behaviors to the appropriate healthcare staff.
- Maintain resident rights by respecting their privacy and dignity at all times.
- Administer first aid when necessary and follow protocols for emergency situations.
- Engage in hospice care practices when required, providing compassionate end-of-life support.
Skills
- Strong background in patient care with a focus on compassion and empathy.
- Experience in dementia care is highly desirable.
- Proficient in patient observation techniques to identify changes in health status.
- Knowledge of resident rights and the ability to advocate for them effectively.
- Familiarity with first aid procedures and emergency response protocols.
- Ability to assist with lifting and transferring patients safely.
