As the HR Operations Process Improvement Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving our efforts to streamline and enhance HR and Payroll functions. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities for process improvements, leveraging cutting-edge technologies like AI tools and automation, and collaborating across teams to ensure the efficiency and compliance of our systems. You will directly influence the payroll processing for over 2,000 employees, ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timeliness.
You’ll also have the opportunity to shape change management initiatives, mentor a dedicated payroll team, and lead integration projects to optimize the ADP Workforce Now platform.

Key Responsibilities
Process Improvement & Change Management
- Lead initiatives to enhance HR processes, leveraging technology, automation, and best practices.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT teams to develop solutions that align with business goals and increase operational efficiency.
- Drive change management strategies to ensure successful adoption of new processes and systems.
- Implement innovative AI tools to automate payroll, HRIS, and compliance functions, improving efficiency and reducing errors.
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for over 2,000 employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Manage and mentor the payroll team, offering guidance, training, and performance evaluations to foster growth and development.
- Resolve complex payroll discrepancies and ensure that salary, vacation, and benefits processing is accurate and timely.
- Prepare, reconcile, and remit tax forms and ensure adherence to payroll best practices.
- Manage the use of ADP Workforce Now, ensuring optimal configuration and data management.
- Spearhead the integration of AI tools to automate HRIS processes such as time tracking, benefits administration, and reporting.
- Develop actionable reports and dashboards to track payroll metrics and optimize decision-making.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure payroll accuracy and minimize risk.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance, particularly within the healthcare sector.
- Stay current with payroll regulations in the healthcare industry and drive the organization’s compliance strategy.
- Apply your expertise in healthcare-specific payroll requirements, including union agreements, per diem employees, overtime rules, and shift differentials.
- Navigate complexities related to home health agency payroll and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in payroll management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong experience processing payroll for 2,000 employees across multiple FEINs.
- Experience in the healthcare or home health agency sector is highly preferred.
- Expert-level proficiency in ADP Workforce Now.
- Experience in integrating AI tools for payroll and HRIS functions.
- Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
- Lean Six Sigma certification or experience is a plus.
- Proven track record of managing and mentoring a payroll team.
- Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Ability to influence and drive organizational change to enhance HR operations.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar credential.
- Familiarity with home health-specific payroll regulations (e.g., EVV requirements).
