Responsibilities
- Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of the job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers in a team based model.
- Provides general administrative support to Chiropractor (i.e. managing the schedule and facilitating the following: follow-up appointments, referral, refills, follow-up contact with patients, etc.)
- Assists in coordination, management and documentation of medications, supplies, referrals, and prior authorizations.
- Assists provider with patient workflow and maintaining clinical records.
- Executes orders and performs related duties as ordered according to standard operating procedures.
- Assists with check-in for the insured patient population, as well as checkout, as needed. Communicates in Phreesia with Financial Counselor and Front Desk Coordinators for uninsured patients.
- Demonstrates competency in completing skills within scope of practice for a Chiropractor Assistant with regular in-house education and support (i.e. rooming patients, taking vital signs, point of testing, etc.)
- Adheres to agency infection control and safety polices.
- Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance.
- Omission of specific duties does not exclude them from this position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment for this position.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Current CPR Certification or willingness to obtain within first 90 days
- Chiropractic Assistant Certificate or willingness to obtain within the first year
- 1-3 years of experience in a Chiropractic or Healthcare setting, including familiarity with the referral process
- 1-3 years of experience with medical insurance verification, including benefits eligibility and authorization processes
- Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred
- Ability work independently with little supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a culturally diverse patient population and team
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
