In this role, you’ll lead orientation, clinical training, continuing education, and professional development for nursing and clinical staff. Collaborating with managers and healthcare teams, you’ll design and implement evidence-based training and in-services that align with state and federal guidelines while driving meaningful change in patient care.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops strong working relationships with colleagues and cross-functional teams to align with departmental objectives.
  • Designs, implements, and maintains clinical orientation, new hire training schedules, ongoing staff education, and annual competency programs for clinical staff and managers.
  • Creates and delivers clinical education programs for both new hires and existing staff to ensure compliance and professional growth.
  • Leads and presents training in Preceptor Workshops and quarterly meetings for Field Managers and Preceptors to enhance mentorship effectiveness.
  • Tracks new hire training progress, Preceptor class attendance, and competency completions to ensure educational compliance.
  • Enrolls staff in required classes and training, supporting their professional development.
  • Provides skills lab training for Preceptors, new hires, and existing employees, including field supervision visits for skills assessments and refreshers as needed.
  • Supports the Accredited Provider Program Director with the ANCC Nurse Planner responsibilities and Continuing Education (CE) programs.
  • Acts as a clinical resource for staff, offering guidance on practice issues and use of the online education center, HealthStream.
  • Assists the Director of Clinical Education in managing clinical rotation placements and tracking clinical hours.
  • Serves as a practicum/clinical mentor for BSN, MSN, and other healthcare students.
  • Promotes certification attainment among staff and managers to enhance professional credentials.
  • Develops and implements clinical competency assessments for all clinical staff.
  • Participates in patient education material review and development to support effective patient care.
  • Serves on the Interdisciplinary Clinical Practice Council (IDCPC) to contribute to best practice initiatives.
  • Identifies and develops online educational programs to enhance training accessibility.
  • Updates and maintains clinical education class schedules on the intranet.
  • Oversees CPR training, including scheduling and coordination with instructors.
  • Maintains and revises the Briggs Procedure Manual to ensure up-to-date practice standards.
  • Assists Employee Health with vaccine clinics, compliance monitoring, and related needs.
  • Partners with HR to foster a positive employee experience and a culture of compassionate care.
  • Collaborates with Quality teams to develop and present outcome-based programs that drive excellence in patient care.
  • Adheres to organizational policies regarding attendance, professionalism, and appearance.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned to support the success of the Clinical Education Department.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Home Health Nurse Educator position will have the following qualifications:

  • BSN required. Master’s degree preferred
  • 3 years of home health experience preferred
  • 3 years of experience as a Clinical Educator preferred
  • Knowledge of OASIS preferred
  • Knowledge of HomeCareHomeBase/ Point Care a plus
  • Excellent teaching and computer skills
  • Strong organizational, customer service and interpersonal skills
