VNA of Ohio is now hiring a PRN Occupational Therapist Assistant for East side of Cuyahoga County and your qualifications and skill set may be an ideal match for this opportunity. The Occupational Therapist Assistant will be responsible for procedures and related tasks under the direction or supervision of a Licensed Occupational Therapist.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
Illustrative duties may include, but are not restricted to, one or more of the following:
- Carries out occupational therapy patient care programs or portions of under supervision of the Licensed Occupational Therapist.
- Teaching activities of daily living and the use of adaptive equipment to patient/caregiver.
- Instruct patient/caregiver in energy conservation, joint protection, and proper breathing techniques in use of specific activities or exercises to enhance functional performance.
- Ability to identify situations requiring immediate reports to the Licensed Occupational Therapist, such as unpredicted response to treatment, significant change in physiological norms, noncompliance to program, or achievement of long and short term goals.
- Prepares routine reports, administrative procedures, written narratives, schedules, and caseload cards.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have:
- Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- 1 year experience as an Occupational Assistant.
- Certification established by the American Occupational Therapy Association or 2 years’ experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant and received a passing grade on the exam sponsor by the US Public Health Service.
Required Licenses, Registrations and/or Certifications:
- Licensed in the State of Ohio.
- CPR certification required.
- Valid driver’s license.
