Key Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patient symptoms and responses to treatment.
- Educate patients and caregivers on self-care techniques and end-of-life comfort measures.
- Administer intravenous (IV) and injectable medications as prescribed.
- Provide pain management and wound care, including ostomy care as required.
- Communicate any changes in the patient’s health status to the physician and the interdisciplinary hospice team.
- Support patients in achieving and maintaining independence.
- Strong assessment skills to evaluate patient conditions and treatment efficacy.
- Proficient in patient and caregiver education with a focus on compassion.
- Excellent communication abilities regarding medications, dietary needs, and disease management.
- Experience in administering IV therapies and managing complex care needs.
- Capability to handle physical demands, including lifting a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Possession of a valid Missouri nursing license.
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience; preference for candidates with hospice or home health background.
- Reliable transportation and current automobile insurance.
- Ability to read, write, perform basic mathematics, and follow instructions.
- Successful completion of a drug screening and criminal background check.
- Not listed on the Employee Disqualification List (EDL).
- Submission of a complete application along with at least two professional references with contact information.
