The RN Preceptor position is an exciting new leadership position! We are seeking an RN Preceptor for Dutchess and Putnam counties.
This individual will be responsible for designing and implementing an ongoing educational program that will promote professional growth within the agency by developing and applying clinical and management skills. In collaboration with agency leadership, the RN Preceptor & Manager of Clinical Practice is responsible for the clinical training of all professional staff and will play an active role in orientation for clinical staff and graduate nurse residents. Creating and implementing a graduate nurse program in home health will enable the company to grow exponentially.

Responsibilities :
- Develops, implements and evaluates the delivery of clinical staff education and training to VNSW clinical staff.
- Plans and conducts initial clinical orientation and field-based training and supervision of graduate nurse residents and ongoing staff development and educational programs with an integrated approach to include regulatory changes, performance improvement plans, best practices and Agency initiatives.
- Promotes the development of clinical skills to meet the needs of the agency and patients.
- Conducts field competencies of staff on orientation, graduate nurse residents and assists the Clinical Manager with field competencies as part of remediation and / or performance improvement plan.
- Identifies opportunities to improve care delivery.
- Utilizes all methods of clinical instruction available : classroom, internet, webinars, videos, clinical learning management platforms and home visits to accomplish clinical education objectives.
- Participates on the QI committee and other committees as assigned.
- Collaborates with Clinical Managers and Agency leadership to design, develop and provide clinical staff development, and evaluate the effectiveness of the clinical education by performance and compliance indicators.
- Collaborates with Clinical Manager in completing a 3-month Post-Orientation review for all new clinical hires.
- Conducts field observation visits and reports findings and submits required documentation to Clinical Manager. Collaborates in formal staff evaluation and staff performance improvement processes.
- Coordinates co-visits and communication with new staff members, graduate nurse residents for the purpose of orientation / training and clinical staff development when need.
- Participates in QAPI initiatives and reporting
- Assist in the development and implementation of new clinical initiatives
- Follow up with clinicians in relation to patient care planning and documentation.
- Participates in quality improvement activities as appropriate.
- Participates on work groups and special projects with leadership as needed.
- Serves as a clinical resource to clinical staff.
- Attends Interdisciplinary case conferences.
Qualifications :
Salary : $110,000 to $120,000 annually
