- Has overall responsibility for on-site wastewater treatment system (1 MGD ), and associated NPDES Permit Compliance including all recordkeeping and reporting. Reports any issues of potential non-compliance to the facility management team.
- Has overall responsibility for Major Source Title V Air Permit, including multiple NESHAP/MACT Rules, and daily operation of a large biofilter Air Pollution Control Device. Responsibility includes all applicable recordkeeping and reporting. Reports any issues of potential non-compliance to the facility management team.
- Has overall responsibility for ensuring compliance with all applicable OSHA regulatory compliance requirements defined in the General Industry Standards (29 CFR 1910), including but not limited to hands-on development, implementation and maintenance of all required OSHA written programs, employee training, documentation, and reporting. Reports any issues of potential non-compliance to the facility management team.
- Has overall responsibility for updating, implementing and maintaining the Viskase Corporate Safety Manual; including employee training, documentation, and communication.
- Serves as company representative and point of contact during governmental regulatory inspections (ADEQ, Federal EPA, and/or Federal OSHA)
- Prepares applications, and communicates with the appropriate governmental agencies, for renewal and/or modification of all environmental permits. Has thorough knowledge of all permit terms and conditions.
- Develops and delivers training to Plant employees with regards to health, wellness, industrial hygiene, and off-the-job safety programs.
- Coordinates emergency response training for all employees, and specific training for all members of the facility Emergency Brigade.
- Reviews, investigates accident and injury reports and maintains records (including the OSHA 300 Log). Coordinates worker's compensation claims management. Provides injury/illness statistical data and reviews routinely with the facility management team.
- Recommends safety standards for grounds, building, and equipment.
- Coordinates first aid, medical reports, health surveys, and maintains constant communication with all plant employees
- Provides safety, health, and fire protection technical advice, reports, and related information.
- Organizes and conducts safety inspections
- Facilitates, assists with Safety Meetings for all departments
- Coordinates Industrial Hygiene activities with assistance of laboratory technicians.
- Adheres to ISO9001 and GMP standards to continually improve products and services to consistently meet customer quality requirements.
- Maintains extensive knowledge of all records and reports which are required by the State and Federal agencies and ensures that accurate and complete records are maintained; and all reports are submitted prior to statutory deadlines. Environmental reports include but are not limited to: NPDES Discharge Monthly Reports (DMR), SARA Title III Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) Form R, Annual Air Permit Compliance Certification, Semi-Annual Air Permit Monitoring Report, Semi-Annual Air Permit NESHAP Compliance Certification, Annual Storm Water Report, Annual Viskase Corporate Environmental Report.
- Maintains the facility Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plan, as well as the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), and complete/document associated visual site inspections.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate professionally, both verbal and written, with all levels of the organization, as well as with representatives of all governmental regulatory agencies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education/experience in health, safety and environmental or related field preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years of health, safety and environmental experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid working knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations and guidelines.
- Ability to assess organization training needs. Ability to create and deliver training programs/materials. Ability to deliver and evaluate the efficacy of training programs.
- Excellent communication and coaching skills.
- Above average experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
