To maintain machinery and building in safe working condition. To improve efficacy of machinery by means of completing preventative and predictive maintenance. To repair downed machinery quickly, completely and in a safe manner.

All Operations employee are responsible for the safety and quality of ViskoTeepak products. Any and all safety issues must be reported to the supervisor immediately. All employees are advised of this and must be properly trained to perform this job using appropriate sanitation and food safety procedures.

Position Summary:
To maintain machinery and building in safe working condition. To improve efficacy of machinery by means of completing preventative and predictive maintenance. To repair downed machinery quickly, completely and in a safe manner.
Essential Functions:
- - Perform routine preventive Maintenance activities
- - Takes the initiative in finding and implementing efficiency improvements to existing equipment and processes.
- - Assist in the installation, start-up and qualification of new equipment.
- - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for mechanical, pneumatic, minor electrical failures, sensors, and fault conditions.
- - Replace defective variable frequency drive and/or motor.
- - Review equipment technical documentation to update preventative maintenance schedules.
- - Analyze maintenance data for the implementation of a predictive maintenance program.
- - Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and time spent.
- - Set-up and trouble shoot process equipment.
- - Work closely with production to quickly resolve technical issues.
- - Knowledge of PLC’s, hydraulics, AC/DC, fuses, etc.
- - Proven mechanical aptitude – through trade school or relevant job experience.
- - In-depth knowledge of plant operations; and functioning of production equipment.
- - Ability to independently diagnose and repair equipment problems, as well as recommend long-term solutions.
- - A working knowledge of inventory maintenance system is required.
- - The ability to initiate and coordinate plant equipment and facilities projects under the direction of the Maintenance Manager is required.
- - Ability to machine parts using lathes mills welding equipment according to specifications is required.
- - Experience with Lock Out Tag Out
- - Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and reading skills; as well as the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- - Ability to work with hand and power tools in a safe manner.
- - Past experience with manual fabrication – tig or mig welding, vertical mill, or engine lathe preferred.
- - Background in food processing – basic GMP training preferred.
- - Past experience as a lead in a high speed packaging environment preferred.
- - Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs. and to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting, bending, and standing, climbing or walking.
- - Air-conditioned/heated facility with adequate lighting.
