Job Summary
The Buyer is responsible for the strategic sourcing and procurement of goods, materials, and services to support Vislink’s operational objectives with a focus on ensuring the ideal balance of cost, quality, and timely delivery. This role involves sourcing, evaluating, and qualifying suppliers, managing inventory levels, and negotiating favorable terms. The Senior Buyer will also be key in streamlining procurement processes, develop and foster supplier partnerships, ensuring a consistent supply chain, and driving cost reductions to enhance overall operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Have comprehensive knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Bill of Materials (BOM), Inventory Management, Demand Forecasting, and Reporting and Analytics.
- Purchase raw materials, subassemblies, fabricated, and machined parts based on data, consumption patterns, demand forecasts, and pull system requirements. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of supplier information and performance data; respond to price increases with the goal to negate or minimize all increases
- Negotiate competitive pricing for materials while ensuring quality and timely delivery requirements are met.Establish strong working relationships with suppliers to foster collaboration and partnership.
· Collaborate with Production to track material status and align with production schedules to meet customer demand.
· Work closely with Project Management, Engineering, and Manufacturing design teams on the new product development (NPI) support.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a focus on cost management, inventory control, and negotiation.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, material management, manufacturing or similar discipline preferred
- Experience in an electronics manufacturing environment
- LEAN methodology experience, including the ability to identify and eliminate waste, streamline processes, and drive continuous improvement in procurement and inventory management.
- Commercially and financially astute, with a strong understanding of cost control and procurement best practices.
- Communicates in a professional manner and works with other functions effectively, such as Manufacturing, Sales, Engineering, Accounting.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and negotiation skills to effectively manage purchasing activities.
- Proven track record in managing vendor relationships and driving cost-saving initiatives.
- Ability to analyze market conditions, supplier performance, and procurement data to make informed decisions.
- Ability to identify opportunities to increase accuracy and optimize resources and develop/recommend/implement solutions
- Proven ability to resolve problems independently and take appropriate action in a timely manner
- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel, Syteline experience a plus.
- Demonstrates successfully prioritizing and planning multiple/conflicting priorities and demands.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
